Are you a good listener? Are you caring and compassionate? Work with VCARS to assist individuals, families and groups that are impacted by crime and tragedy.
Requirements to become a volunteer with Barrie and Area VCARS:
  • Be able to communicate effectively
  • Be a good listener
  • Understand the importance of confidentiality
  • Provide a clear police record check and vulnerable sector screening report
  • Provide a valid driver’s license and have access to an insured vehicle while on duty
  • Be able to work as a member of a team
  • Be able to offer compassionate support and practical assistance
  • Possess knowledge of community agencies to offer referrals
You do not require prior training or experience. VCARS will provide the tools and training to help you make a difference in your community.
